We “Swosti Group Family” have been drawing its essence from the countless years of experience by providing hospitality and travel services which have woven the maxim of Atithi Devo Bhava.
With a very aim to providing luxurious hotel & hospitality services, in the year 1995, the journey started when an undeveloped land at Odia Alapur, Gorapali, Ganjam on the bank of Chilika Lake was bought by our CMD of Swosti Group, Mr. J K Mohanty to build a world-class luxury eco-resort property i.e SWOSTI CHILIKA RESORT. One could not even imagine that this land could be a travel destination in the future because at that time there was no proper communication to that place and it was a purely rural area.

Various architects were turned to make what was envisioned a reality. Finally, one architectural firm from Thailand was selected, because they understood our requirements and concept. Today, Swosti Chilika Resort is known to be the best eco-resort in India and also as a primary attraction for Weddings and Conferences in eastern India because of the idealistic visualization and the concept designer.
During the project construction work, it was decided to engage the local villagers for posts such as plumbers, carpenters & laborers for employment so that they can earn a decent livelihood. Management also decided to select deserving candidates out of them who can work for us, will be trained further at Swosti Education called Swosti Institute of Management and Social Studies (SIMSS) who can be further offered permanent employment at the resort.
The Team of Swosti Group; especially the man behind this beautiful holiday destination Mr. J K Mohanty, CMD of Swosti Group, Mr. Chiranjiv Mohanty – Director of Swosti Group, Mr. Priyanatha Behera – Vice President cum CFO of Swosti Group, General Managers of our other properties & other key employees of Swosti Group have given their valuable time, dedication, and hard work to start making this dream project into reality.
The intention behind this effort was to make a luxury world-class resort near Chilika Lake with well-appointed rooms that should exude pure luxury accompanied by modern resort facilities & amenities. The very intention was to provide people of all ages with natural surroundings, an environment full of oxygen, the music of birds, and a comfortable place away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
After so many ups & downs on 26th July 2017, ‘Swosti Chilika Resort’ was inaugurated by Sri Naveen Patnaik, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha in the presence of various other invited esteemed guests. The resort has won the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) Platinum Class Award. It is a matter of pride for Swosti Group which besides Chilika Lake also operates hotels in Bhubaneswar & Gopalpur.

Unfortunately, due to the pandemic situation and lockdown, the 3rd Anniversary -2020 & this year, the 4th Anniversary-2021 of the resort could not be celebrated loudly. But the management of Swosti is confident that domestic tourism will bounce back after the pandemic situation is control. We always prioritize the health & safety of our guests and staff.
